Isaiah 43:4
"Since you are precious in My sight,
Since you are honored and I love you,
I will give other men in your place
and other peoples in exchange for your life."
Okay, by reading this, you're probably thinking "Wow, God would kill someone else in exchange for me?" At first you might be honoured, but then you might think "Hey, that's not fair for whoever dies!" But you know what? God already HAS taken the life of someone else in order for you to live. He let His own Son die so that we could live. For those of us raised in the church, this has been pounded into our brains so much: "Jesus died in exchange for my sins so I could spend eternity with God when I die." Though this is true, I think we have become so used to this concept that we never even comprehend the fact that God let His own son DIE so we could live. And since God has known all things since the beginning of time, He knew as He let His Son die when
we would blaspheme His Name,
ignore Him,
be mean to our brothers and sisters,
and misuse the things He has given us (such as our money, our time, our bodies, etc.)
Yet He not only loved us but sent His Son to die for us.
If that's not crazy awesome, then I don't know what is. Seriously.
